Iran’s permanent representative to the United Nations says Israel’s treatment of Palestinians constitutes the most serious case of human rights violation in the world.
Majid Takht-Ravanchi touched on some of the violations he described as the manifestations of the regime’s apartheid policies. Those include systematic killings, demolition of Palestinian-owned structures, confiscation of lands and properties, forceful eviction of Palestinian residents, and the years-long blockade on the Gaza Strip. The Iranian diplomat also referred to the plight of the Yemeni people. He says serious breaches of international humanitarian law have led to severe suffering of civilians in the war-torn country. Takht-Ravanchi called on the U-N Security Council to hold the violators accountable and compel them to end their practices
