The United Nations has raised around $1.2bn for war-ravaged Yemen. That’s a quarter of the aid it had sought. The UN had appealed for $4.3bn dollars from donors. The aid has been described as woefully inadequate. The impoverished country has been under a devastating blockade since Saudi Arabia and its allies launched a war against it in 2015.
