May 15 is considered a significant cultural event for Iranians, in which they commemorate the great Persian poet Ferdowsi and celebrate Persian Language Day. Ferdowsi wrote one of the essential Iranian literary works, Shahnameh, which played a significant role in revival of Persian language and spread of its literature.
