Iran's UN envoy says the deteriorating situation in the occupied Palestinian territories poses a threat to international peace and security.
In an address to the UN Security Council, Majid Takht Ravanchi says the UN inaction has emboldened Israel to continue its war crimes against the Palestinian people. He says the perpetrators of such crimes must be brought to justice. The Iranian ambassador calls on the council to oblige Israel to end its systematic violations of human rights and international humanitarian law. Takht Ravanchi rejects the Israeli accusations that Iran is a threat to peace. He says Israel levels such allegations to distract attention from its brutalities against Palestinians.
