On December 30, 2009, nationwide pro-establishment rallies in Iran put an end to foreign-backed post-election riots. Every year on this day, people turn out in different cities, particularly the capital Tehran, to commemorate what they describe as the “epic” rallies that dealt the final blow to all who were instigating riots in the country.
