The UN is reviewing its presence in Afghanistan after women were barred from working for the organization. The recent announcement comes after the Taliban authorities barred Afghan women from working for the UN in the country. The organization claims that “the ban is unlawful under international law, including the UN Charter, and for that reason, the body cannot comply”.
