Iranians have marked the 50th anniversary of the 1963 popular demonstration in the country known as the “15th of Khordad uprising”. The popular revolt against the Pahlavi regime was a response to the arrest of Imam Khomeini after a speech criticizing the Shah. The occasion is considered a time to reflect on the teachings of the Late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini.
