The Republican speaker of the US House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy has given the go-ahead for an impeachment investigation of President Joe Biden.
McCarthy said the inquiry would focus on allegations of abuse of power and corruption. He added that investigations have found that Biden lied to American people about knowledge of his family's foreign business dealings. The speaker encouraged the president and his team to fully cooperate with the investigation. The main corruption allegations against Biden are participating in his son’s business deals with foreign nationals when he was vice president. He is also accused of twisting U-S foreign policy to benefit Hunter Biden's foreign ventures.
