Palestinian resistance factions have organized a rally in the blockaded Gaza Strip marking the 23rd anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Intifada. Also known as the second Intifada, it was sparked by the desecration of the Islamic Holy shrine by then Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
