The Iranian army’s drones can already counter any threat but the force still wants to become more powerful in this sector. That’s according to Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, speaking as Iran’s army prepares to hold large-scale joint drone drills across large parts of the country’s central and southern areas.
The drills commander says Iran is boosting its defense capabilities against any possible threat. Rear admiral Sayyari stressed that Iran has made great progress in the drone industry in recent years, placing itself among the strongest in the region. The Iranian army's navy, ground and air forces will be taking part in the exercises starting on Tuesday. The drills aim to assess various types of home-grown unmanned aircraft including reconnaissance and combat drones. Tehran has always stressed its military power poses no threat to anyone and serves as a deterrent.
