A humanitarian aid flotilla destined for Gaza has been blocked in Turkey after Guinea Bissau decides to remove its flag from two of the vessels.
The activists also said Guinea Bissau had made several extraordinary requests for information. They described those requests and inspections as unusual and political. The Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation is the primary organizer of the civilian Freedom Flotilla Coalition. The group is comprised of human rights activists, including lawyers, doctors and nurses who came together to deliver aid directly to Gaza. About 2-hundered-80 of them were present at the press conference and shouted slogans in support of Palestine. Three of the flotilla's ships have been docked for a week south of Istanbul and it was planned to set sail Friday.
