Cuba says it will join South Africa's case against Israel at the International Court of Justice, which accuses the regime of committing genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza.
In a statement, the Cuban Foreign Ministry expressed its support for legitimate international efforts to put an end to the Israeli genocide. It said genocide, apartheid, forced displacement, and collective punishment cannot have a place in today's world. The Palestinian Foreign Ministry welcomed Cuba’s decision and said it indicates Havana’s unwavering commitment to justice and the rule of law. It called on all the governments to throw their weight behind the case so the genocide in Gaza could be stopped. Cuba joins Nicaragua, Colombia, Libya, the Maldives, Egypt, Ireland, Belgium, Turkey, and Chile as countries that intend to or have formally announced their participation in case against Israel.
