Venezuelans to vote for new president on Sunday

The Venezuelan president has once again taken a swipe at western media for their alleged attempt to discredit the electoral process in his country.
Maduro was addressing his supporters during a campaign rally in the western state of Tachira. He, particularly, accused the US of meddling in Venezuela's internal affairs by using media propaganda against him. Millions of voters will be heading to the polls on Sunday to elect a new president. Muduro is in the race to win the top executive post for a third term. This is not the first time the US has been accused of trying to influence elections in the oil-rich South American country. In 20-19, the US and many western governments recognized opposition figure, Juan Guaidó as Venezuela’s president without him being elected.
