The Palestinian Red Crescent says Israeli troops have killed a Palestinian teenager during clashes with protesters in the occupied West Bank. 15-year-old Mohammad Said was shot dead in the village of Beita, south of Nablus. The Palestinian health ministry says six other protesters were also injured as Israeli troops fired live rounds and tear gas at them. The demonstrators had gathered in Beita to voice their anger at the construction of new settler units near the village. They set fire to tires and hurled stones at Israeli forces. Tensions have been running high in the occupied territories for months over Israel’s settlement activities as well as the regime’s planned evictions of Palestinians from their homes. All Israeli settlements are illegal under international law.
