Iran blames the United States for the failure of international efforts to create a Middle East region free from Weapons of Mass Destruction.
The Iranian ambassador to the United Nations criticized the U-S for supporting Israel while turning a blind eye to the regime’s nuclear program. Speaking during a U-N conference, Majid Takht Ravanchi said Israel must join the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty as a non-nuclear member and allow inspections of all its nuclear activities by the International Atomic Energy Agency. He further dismissed the allegations against Iran’s nuclear program, noting that the peaceful nature of his county’s nuclear activity has been confirmed by the I-A-E-A. Takht Ravanchi cautioned that such allegations against Iran distract attention from the main threat, namely Israel’s W-M-D program.
