The head of the Catholic Church urges dialogue to overcome tragedies happening across the world. Pope Francis is calling attention to the sufferings of people in Syria, Iraq, and Yemen.
The pontiff made the remarks during his annual Christmas day address at the Vatican. He warned that people are becoming so desensitized to crises and sufferings that immense tragedies are passed over in silence and hardly being noticed. The pope also called for more efforts to bring an end to the coronavirus pandemic.
