South Africa's anti-apartheid icon Desmond Tutu, dies at the age of 90 after decades of fight against injustice.
Tutu, South Africa's first black Anglican archbishop, was receiving treatment for prostate cancer at a hospital in Cape Town. President Cyril Ramaphosa says his death marks another farewell to a generation that struggled for the liberation of South Africa. Tutu won the Nobel Peace Prize in 19-84 for his campaign against the country's previous brutal system. A decade later, he witnessed the downfall of that regime. Tutu was also an outspoken critic of Israeli crimes against Palestinians. He believed Palestinians have been subjected to Israel’s systemic humiliation, similar to the one practiced in apartheid South Africa.
