Iran calls on the United Nations to adopt a resolution condemning those behind the assassination of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani.
The Iranian President’s office has made the call in a letter to the President of the U-N General Assembly. The letter says the impunity granted to the perpetrators of the drone strike poses a threat to international peace and security. It stresses that attacks on government and diplomatic officials are crimes against humanity and violate the U-N charter and international law on human rights. It warns that inaction on state terrorism can lead to devastating consequences for the international community.
