Palestinians rally in the Gaza Strip in solidarity with an inmate who has been on hunger strike in an Israeli jail for months.
Addressing the rally, a top official of the Islamic Jihad movement warned Israel over the deteriorating health of Hisham Abu Hawash. He stressed that prisoners are a red line for the Palestinians. The movement says Israel is fully responsible for the current condition of Abu Hawash and that it will take revenge on the regime if he dies. The Palestinian prisoner went on a hunger strike more than 140 days ago to protest his illegal detention without charge or trial. Abu Hawash is currently in a state of coma. Medical experts say he is in danger of sudden death or a stroke.
