A spokesman for the Yemeni army is warning foreign companies operating in the United Arab Emirates to leave the country amid an escalation of airstrikes.
Yahya Saree says the UAE is no longer safe and investing there, is highly risky for foreign firms. He says the UAE will remain unsafe as long as it continues to attack Yemen as part of a Saudi-led military coalition. The warning comes on the heels of a major drone strike by Yemeni forces deep inside the UAE last week. The retaliatory raid targeted three fuel tankers in Abu Dhabi, killing at least three people. Following the operation, the Saudi-led coalition launched hundreds of airstrikes on Yemen, hitting mainly civilian targets.
