Systemic racism holding back Black Americans. That is the assessment of a US Civil rights group, the National Urban League, which has said that the median household income for Black people in the US is 37 percent lower than that of white people. Why does racism, in all of its forms, like in this case income, still persist in the US, to the extent that it does. In this edition of the Spotlight, we will look at why it is difficult for people of color to overcome systemic racism in the U.S., in all of its forms.
