Just over one week remains to the June first deadline for the US government to raise the debt ceiling which is currently $31.38 trillion. If the debt ceiling is not increased, the government will not be able to continue paying its bills. The debt ceiling debate has become synonymous with wrangling between Democrats and Republicans and seeing what concessions can be received. Republicans want to use the crisis to get the Democrats to cut back on spending. Democrats say it’s not the right time for that as the country is facing a crisis. In the middle, is the people who are on edge and wondering what will really happen.
