Muslims in Afghanistan celebrate Eid al-Ghadir on the 18th of Dhul-Hajjah which marks the day Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) appointed Ali ibn Abi Talib as his successor. It is considered as one of the fundamental events for Shia Muslims, celebrated annually around the world.
