Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim says Iran’s unprecedented retaliatory strikes on Israel were “legitimate.”

Anwar warned the Tel Aviv regime against taking further action that would “aggravate tensions” in West Asia.

“The launching of the drones by Iran is a legitimate act following the barbarous attack by the Israeli Zionist regime against the Iranian embassy in Damascus,” Anwar said, referring to Israel’s April 1 deadly strike on Iran’s consulate building in the Syrian capital, Damascus.

The leader of the Muslim-majority leader said Tel Aviv must avoid taking “any further retaliation that will aggravate tensions in the Middle East.”

The regime’s airstrikes on Iran’s embassy compound killed two generals of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi and General Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi, as well as five of their accompanying officers.

In response, on April 14, the IRGC targeted the Israeli-occupied territories with a barrage of drones and missiles.

Iran has also warned Israel against taking any retaliatory actions.
