For the first time in the world, doctors have successfully transplanted the organs of a dead donor to three recipients in one of Iran’s leading medical centers called Firouzgar Hospital. Now you might think that this has been done before, but note that the donor was not brain-dead. Instead the individual had died of cardiac arrest caused by fatal pulmonary embolism; a condition deemed impossible for organ donation until now! Gisoo Misha Ahmadi reports.
