The Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah has carried out a large-scale rocket and drone strike against Israeli positions deep inside northern occupied territories.
Hezbollah’s attack followed Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon early on Sunday, which the regime characterized as pre-emptive. Hezbollah says it fired more than 320 rockets at 11 Israeli military bases. The movement says the first phase of the operation has been completed with success. Israeli media say Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called a security cabinet meeting to discuss the strike. The regime has declared a 48-hour state of emergency over Hezbollah’s attack. The municipality of the port city of Haifa has also ordered all universities and beaches to be closed until further notice. In the U-S, President Joe Biden has directed officials to continuously communicate with Israel.
