The Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, says it is not interested in negotiating Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s new conditions for Gaza ceasefire.
Hamas deputy chief, Khalil Al-Hayya, said Netanyahu demands control over Netzarim and Philadelphi corridors and the Rafah crossing. He added that there will be no agreement on ceasefire WITHOUT the complete withdrawal of the regime’s forces from those corridors. Al-Hayya said Netanyahu wants the war to continue and does not want to reach an agreement. He said the ceasefire agreement has a real price, and Netanyahu does not want to pay that price. The Hamas official noted that the group is committed to the July 2 agreement, which was proposed by U-S President Joe Biden and upheld by the U-N Security Council. His remarks came as numerous rounds of truce talks have been held through mediators, but none has led to any significant result.
