Israelis have held a new wave of protests against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for failing to secure the release of captives held in Gaza.
According to Israeli media, around half a million people flooded the streets of several occupied cities, including Tel Aviv, Haifa and al-Quds. Demonstrators in Tel Aviv gathered around a large bonfire, holding placards reading slogans such as “seal the deal.” The rally however turned violent when Israeli security forces clashed with protesters and arrested several people. Demonstrators demanded a prisoner exchange deal with Palestinians resistance group Hamas, saying that they will otherwise BURN Israel. They also asked for Netanyahu to step down and called for snap elections. Netanyahu has been in hot water as he has failed to achieve any of his stated goals following the regime’s invasion of Gaza. Israel has been the scene of such anti-Netanyahu rallies for months.
