South Koreans pushing back on U.S. alliance, militarization

South Korean civic leaders are pushing back on the government under President Yoon Suk-yeol for its increasing alliance with the United States, protesting negotiations which will likely increase the cost of hosting American troops. Many South Koreans question the benefit of the U.S. alliance at all, and argue the Yoon government is militarizing the country with excessive trade in arms.
