Turkey-Israel economic ties, a roller coaster

It took more than six months after the Israeli regime began its war on Gaza, for Turkey’s President Erdogan to decide to suspend trade with Israel for specific goods that could be used in what he termed the genocidal war against the strip. However, a month later, Erdogan found himself compelled to sever all trade ties, as public dissatisfaction in Turkey grew over his earlier limited measures, which were seen as inconsistent with Ankara’s rhetoric. Analysts suggest that Turkey has not entirely cut ties with Israel, instead using Greece and Palestine to continue supplying Israel with essential goods.
