Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has condemned the assassination of Hezbollah’s media relations chief Mohammed Afif in an Israeli strike in central Beirut.

“Undoubtedly, the move by evil occupiers in committing this crime, which is an attack against truth and transparency, will not disrupt the global spread of the voice of resistance and steadfastness of… Hezbollah,” the IRGC said in a message on Monday.

It added that the heinous crime will deepen the feelings of hatred and revenge among the Hezbollah fighters and generate fear among the Zionists.

On Sunday night, Hezbollah officially confirmed that its media relations chief was assassinated in an Israeli airstrike that hit the headquarters of the Baath political party in the densely populated Ras al-Naba neighborhood, in central Beirut.

Lebanon’s health ministry said four people were killed in the Israeli aggression.

The IRGC further said Afif played a wise role at a sensitive and determining juncture, particularly in supporting the Palestinian people and resistance movement Hamas, and exposed the iron will of the resistance fighters in the fight against the Israeli regime to the world.
