Syrians have held a demonstration in the southwestern Dara’a Province to call for an end to Israeli occupation of their land.
The protest was held in the Yarmouk Basin in the west of the province. They shouted slogans such as “Syria is free … The occupier must leave.” One protester was shot and injured after Israeli forces attacked the demonstrators. Israel seized a swath of southern Syria along the border with the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights shortly after Syrian President Bashar Assad was ousted by militants earlier this month. Israel has also expanded its occupation of other parts of Syria and carried out airstrikes on military and civilian targets across the country. Latest pictures show Israeli forces gathering and detonating Syrian weapons and ammunition.
