US President Donald Trump was lauded, by some, for his clarity and accuracy when he insisted to a reporter that Iran is not “weak”, and that Iran is actually “very strong right now”. The honest admission from the returning American president could perhaps lead to more realistic bilateral dialogue, but it came as Trump reaffirmed Washington’s “maximum pressure” sanction campaign on the people of Iran.
