Russia says it has shot down 52 Ukrainian drones as tit-for-tat attacks between the two countries continue despite ongoing ceasefire negotiations.
The Russian defense ministry announced its air defense units downed the Ukrainian UAVs over border regions such as Bryansk, Oryol, Kursk, Tula, Kaluga and Belgorod. Officials in Kiev say the attack was in response to Russian ballistic missiles striking the city of Sumy in Norther Ukraine on Sunday, which killed 34 people and injuring over 100. Thousands of people have been killed on both sides as the bloody conflict continues unabated, despite US-mediated peace talks.
