At least 28 people have been killed and many others wounded in two terrorist attacks in a crowded market in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, police and medical sources say.
Two assailants detonated their explosive vests inside a market in Baghdad’s Tayaran Square on Thursday, killing the 28 people and wounding 73 others, Iraq's al-Sumeria television reported, citing police and medical officials.
Police said the casualties could rise due to the magnitude of the blasts.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the deadly attacks, but such assaults bear the hallmarks of those carried out by the remnants of the Takfiri Daesh terrorist group.
