More people in Europe fall victim to Covid-19 as the pandemic continues to hold the continent in its grip.
The UK registered over one-thousand new deaths and more than 19-thousand infections. Britain has so far confirmed more than 111-thousand fatalities, the highest toll in Europe. Its total cases now stand at over 3-point-9 million, Europe’s second highest after Russia. On Friday, Russia also reported more than 16-thousand-6-hundred new infections and 527 new deaths. Italy added more than 14-thousand infections to its total caseload. It also suffered 377 more deaths from the virus. Also, Sweden registered more than 33-hundred new infections. Many European countries are also grappling with a highly contagious Covid variant that was first detected in the UK. Denmark has so far identified 14-hundred infections with the new strain.
