Iran's home appliance industry has had many ups and downs. Its market has faced many obstacles including competition with foreign brands, the US. imposed sanctions, and coronavirus pandemic. Currently, Iranian producers have indigenized the knowledge for manufacturing 70-75 percent of the country's home appliance needs. The market also registered a growth of 53 percent last year. Iran's domestic home appliance market is worth millions and had a turnover of around seven billion dollars so far. Industry analysts predict that production of household appliances in Iran will break an all-time record this year (ending in March 2021). Around 100,000 tonnes of home appliances were exported in the first half of this year alone. These exports were valued at nearly 140 million dollars and sent to destination markets of neighboring countries. Refrigerators and freezers were among the top exports, along with television sets.
