Jubilant Palestinians have taken to the streets of the Gaza Strip to celebrate a truce between Hamas and Israel. The ceasefire ended 11 days of air raids and shelling by the Israeli regime and retaliatory attacks by Palestinian resistance groups. The conflict between the two sides has been the most intense in seven years. The truce was brokered and is being monitored by Egypt. Israel’s attacks on Gaza killed 232 Palestinians, including 65 children. More than 1,900 people were also injured in the Israeli onslaught. Moreover, 12 Israelis were killed and hundreds injured in retaliatory strikes by Palestinian resistance groups on Israeli cities.
