Election Day in Iran. People are heading to the polls across the country to choose a new president for the next four years. More than 59 million Iranians are eligible to cast ballots. Voters will choose a successor to incumbent President Hassan Rouhani. Four candidates are running for the post after three dropped out of the race on Wednesday. People are also voting in the country’s city and village council elections. Mid-term elections for parliament and assembly of experts will also be held concurrently in a number of cities.
