The Afghan capital Kabul has been rocked by yet another explosion ripping through an area close to the country’s main security agency.
The blast near the National Directorate of Security left two civilians and a security official injured. It came hours after a string of deadly bomb and gun attacks close to Kabul's diplomatic district. According to an interior ministry spokesperson, eight civilians were killed and at least 20 others were wounded during the assaults late on Tuesday. The Interior Ministry later confirmed the killing of all assailants. Afghanistan's defense minister said the coordinated attacks were aimed at him. The Taliban claimed responsibility for Tuesday’s attacks and vowed more assaults against top government officials.
