The Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas has rejected Israel’s “food in return for security” proposal for the besieged Gaza Strip.
Mahmoud al-Zahar, a member of the Hamas political bureau said the resistance will never give up its weapons and resort to the style of begging that Israel is seeking. He said the regime’s proposal has been rejected because it is an attempt to barter Israel's security for basic essentials such as food and medicine for the Gazans. Al-Zahar was reacting to the Israeli regime’s so-called advanced humanitarian rehabilitation plan for the Gaza Strip. The plan includes economic rehabilitation, security, and rebuilding of infrastructure subject to Hamas' commitments to a long-term silence.
