The US military admits a drone strike it carried out late last month in Afghanistan killed civilians and NOT Daesh terrorists.
General McKenzie said the US intelligence had reasonable certainty that the suspected location was a Daesh position where terrorists were planning an attack on Kabul Airport. McKenzie put the death toll from the airstrike at 10 people, including seven children. The US had said it was retaliating against the deadly August 26th bombing of the airport. The attack, which was claimed by Daesh, killed over 180 people, including 13 American service members. The strike came as Afghan and foreign nationals were rushing to leave Afghanistan.
