In this episode of The Subcontinent, to commemorate Allameh Iqbal Lahori, we will take a look at the shared elements of the cultural and linguistic identity of Iran and the subcontinent, and the colonial policies of de-Persianization implemented in India by Britain, that have severed the ties between the countrys present and its diverse past. We will also examine the roots of the recent conflicts between Muslims and Hindus in the subcontinent that have been continuously increasing ever since the BJP took power in India.
