Britain’s opposition Labour Party leader has come down hard on Prime Minister Boris Johnson over his handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
Keir Starmer added that Johnson is too weak to lead. The premier, however, claimed that he had taken a balanced and proportionate approach toward tackling the pandemic which was right for the UK. This comes a day after nearly 100 of his own party M-Ps broke ranks and rebelled against new restrictions over the spread of the Omicron variant. Johnson is also facing back-to-back scandals which have undermined his own popularity as well as support for Conservatives. People are angry over a leaked video showing Johnson’s top aides talking about a Downing Street Christmas party during last year’s Covid lockdowns. The prime minister is also under fire over the costly refurbishment of his residence.
