New York has a New Mayor, a first, a muslim, Zohran Mamdani. Mamdani beat out former New York governor Andrew Cuomo, and a barely known Republican candidate Curtis Silwa. US president Donald Trump is irate as he perservered to sway the election away from progressive socialist Mamdani toward Democrat turned Independent Cuomo, and not his Republican collegue Silwa.
