Germanys Social Democrats have edged over the ruling Union parties in the general elections. That ends the Unions 16 years in power, led by Chancellor Angela Merkel. As it stands, Germany's finance minister and leader of the Social Democratic Party, Olaf Scholz plan to form a new three-way allied government with the Greens and Free Democratic Party (FDP). But what would a Germany without Merkel on the world stage look like?
