The Lebanese government has condemned Israel’s Sunday attack on the capital Beirut, warning that such attacks could escalate tensions and put the entire region at grave risk.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun also called on the US and France, as guarantors of the ceasefire deal, to uphold their responsibilities and pressure Israel to immediately end its aggression. Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, for his part, denounced what he described as Israel’s ongoing terrorization of Lebanese civilians in their homes. In a separate statement, the country's Foreign Ministry echoed President Aoun’s warnings, stressing that Israel’s actions undermine Lebanon’s efforts to protect its sovereignty.
