Iran’s Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif has rejected a claim by Britain, France and Germany that Tehran is in breach of the 2015 nuclear deal. Zarif said Iran’s activities are in line with Para 36 of the nuclear deal. He added that the three European signatories or E3 have done nothing to fulfill their obligations following the US withdrawal in 2018. Zarif was reacting to a statement by the European signatories in which, they called on Iran to halt producing uranium metal. The E3 also urged Tehran not to take any non-compliant steps. After Washington’s pullout of the deal, the Europeans had pledged to take steps to compensate for the loss and facilitate money transitions. The E3 have taken no serious measures in this regard, nearly 3 years after the US’s withdrawal and its unilateral sanctions against Iran.
