People in Yemen have hit the streets of several cities to voice their anger at the ongoing Saudi blockade on their country.
The rallies were held in the capital Sana’a, the western port city of Hudeydah and the northern city of Sa’ada, among others. The protesters said the Saudi blockade is deepening the humanitarian crisis in Yemen. They called on the international community to act without double standards and hold perpetrators accountable for the violation of their rights. Saudi Arabia imposed an all-out blockade on Yemen after launching a war in March 2015. The blockade has hampered aid imports to Yemen, already dependent on humanitarian assistance to survive. The United Nations has called Yemen the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.
