You can find tin boxes in every house, with people often throwing them away after consuming what they had inside. But an old lady in Belgium has turned it into an obsession for years to fill her home with these fascinating containers.
83-year old Madame Dardenne has gathered around 60-thousand vintage tin boxes in the span of 30 years. The empty containers of all sizes now occupy four of her houses. They once used to hold all kinds of goods ranging from coffee, biscuits, tobacco, tea, and soap to shoe polish are now piled high all over the building that belongs to Dardenne. Some of these boxes, according to her, come from as far as India and Japan. Dardenne says it all started with a chocolate box that was given to her with the painting of a blonde girl in a blue hat.
